Story

Slater is a force to be reckoned with in the world of hip-hop production. Hailing from the gritty streets of New York City, he was raised in New Jersey where he discovered his passion for music. Despite being born with Cerebral Palsy, Slater refuses to let anything stand in his way of creating the hard-hitting beats that he has become known for.

Using music as his paintbrush, Slater is able to bring his vision to life, using his unique perspective to create something that is both powerful and innovative. He has a deep love and respect for the history of hip-hop, drawing inspiration from legendary producers such as DJ Premier, Evidence, Eric Sermon, Jay Dilla, Madlib, and The Alchemist.

In 2003, Slater was hired as a teacher’s aide at a local middle school, where he has been able to not only support himself and his music career but also inspire his students. He has created a home studio that he lovingly refers to as “The Classroom,” where he has honed his craft and developed a signature sound that is all his own.

Slater’s passion for music has led him to create a future YouTube series called “Lesson Planz,” where he showcases his hip-hop sampling (and non-sampling) abilities. He plans to use his platform to connect with other artists who share his vision and possibly collaborate with some of his heroes.

With his tenacity and drive, Slater is poised to leave a lasting impression on the music industry. His unique perspective, powerful beats, and inspiring story make him one to watch in the hip-hop world. So, sit back and get ready to be blown away by the sound of Slater.
